A Night At the Footy

I had a good night at the football tonight - the Swans v Geelong match at Homebush and the match went pretty much according to script with Geelong doing as they pleased to take the game pretty comfortably. But it wasn't the footy that made this such an enjoyable night. It was sharing the experience with my children who all had a wonderful time.

Not all of my kids enjoy going to the footy as a rule but tonight we had a unanimous verdict that it was "the best" night at the football yet. It doesn't happen often that everything clicks into place, but obviously we were all prepared to be tolerant and ready to have a good time.

One of the keys to my son enjoying the game was buying a copy of the Footy Record and letting him fill in who kicked the goals and behinds. It definitely worked as a way of getting him involved in the game. Boredom failed to set in and the game flew by for him. Brilliant.
